Introduction

Parasitology has been founded by Ph D. Han-Jong Im as a chief professor in September, 1972. This department led a systematic crusade against parasitic disease which almost everyone in Korea became infected at that time and gave lectures about parasitic disease which is running rampant in isolated area from medical supporting and harms human health and has contributed to cultivate excellent medical scientists and physicians. this classroom participated in the development and application of medication for an incurable disease liver flukes from the late 1970s to 1980s and played a significant part in the fight against liver flukes infections. Besides, this classroom accomplished many research achievements in the development and application of medicines for cysticercosis cerebri and Ph D. Han-Jong Im received an academy award getting credit for these achievements. Ph. D. Jun-Sang Lee served as Director of the National Health Center and also contributed to a national work. Ph. D. Kyoung-Hwan Joo contributed to the development of serodiagnosis of parasitic disease and Ph. D. Sung-Won Cho who entered the room in 1998 enlarges knowledge and experience about various immunological mechanisms and takes the lead in development of cell therapy with the model of parasite.
