설립 목적

고려대학교 의과대학 의학교육학교실은 의학교육 연구를 수행하여 의학교육 실무에 적용하고 학문발전을 도모하며 의과대학의 교육관련 업무를 지원하여 교육의 지속적인 질 향상과 발전에 기여하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

교실소개

의학은 과학뿐만 아니라 인문사회학을 망라하는 종합학문이며 실천적 분야이다. 그러나 현대의학은 생의학 및 과학적 지식과 기술 위주의 발전만을 강조하였고 환자 진료 및 의학교육에 있어 전문 분야의 과도한 세분화 및 환자의 문제를 총체적으로 접근하지 못하는 문제점을 야기하였다. 20세기 말에 이르러 종래의 생의학적 지식 위주의 교육에 대한 회의론 및 반론이 제기되었고 의학교육의 전문성이 부각되면서 전 세계적으로 의과대학 내에 의학교육을 담당하는 전문부서가 설치되기 시작하였다. 이에 따라, 수많은 연구와 근거에 입각한 개선을 통하여 의학교육의 급속한 발전이 이루어지고 있다.

우리 의과대학에서도 의학교육 개선과 발전을 위한 관심과 노력을 통하여 1995년 12월에 교수들 중심의 자발적인 연구 모임인 '의학교육연구회'가 개설되었고, 이러한 의학교육에 대한 활동은 의학교육학교실의 개설로 이어졌다. 2000년 3월 1일 의학교육학교실이 공식적으로 개설되었고 이는 국내 의과대학에서는 학문적 단위인 교실로서 의학교육 전문 부서를 개설한 최초의 사례였다. 개설 이후, 의학교육에 관심 있는 교원들과 우수한 인적 자원들의 영입을 통해 의과대학 교육의 질 향상을 위한 다양한 교육과 연구, 국제 교류활동을 하였다. 국내 의학교육 전문 부서 중에서 가장 많은 국내외 저명 학술지에 연구 논문을 게재하였고 국제학술대회 발표에 참여하고 있다. 의학교육평가 분야에서 의사국가시험에서 실기시험 도입과 정착에 크게 기여하였다. 안덕선 전 주임교수는 국내에서 의과대학 인증평가가 정착하고 발전하는데 공헌하였으며 한국의학교육학회 회장, 세계의학교육연맹의 부회장, 한국의학교육평가원 회장 등을 역임하면서 국내 의학교육의 선진화 및 학문적 발전에 기여했다. 2010년도에 개설 10주년을 맞았으며 2013년 의인문학교실로 명칭을 변경하였다.

의과대학 내에서 고유의 전문적 기능을 더욱 효과적이고 원활히 수행하고 학문적 발전과 사회적 책무성 달성에 박차를 가하기 위하여 의학교육학교실로 2017년 6월에 재 설립되었다. 재 설립된 의학교육학교실은 기본의학교육뿐 아니라 졸업후 의학교육, 대학 교원의 교육 전문성 개발 등 대학이 추구하는 의학교육의 목표 달성과 교육의 질 개선을 위해 최선을 다하고 있다. 즉, 의과대학 자체평가위원회가 상설기구로써 교육의 질 개선과 향상에 노력하도록 돕고 의학교육평가인증 전문가로써 활동하고 있다. 교육위원회, 의예과위원회, 인문사회의학위원회, 임상실습교육위원회, 시험관리위원회 등 의과대학의 교육관련 제 위원회에 위원장 또는 위원으로 참여하고 있다. 또한 의학교육센터의 교수개발실 및 KU 시뮬레이션센터 내 표준화환자 교육 및 평가 프로그램의 책임과 교육정책실에서 교육자문으로 기여하고 있다.

대외적으로는 한국의학교육학회, 한국의학교육평가원, 의과대학 학장 및 대학원장협의회, 한국보건의료인국가시험원에서 위원 및 이사로 활동하고 있다. 다양한 국책 및 기관 연구 프로젝트를 수행하고 있으며 석·박사과정 대학원을 통해 의학교육전문가를 양성하고 있다.
